Gloom and Doom...

Well people, it is starting to look like janne's odyssey in the Penguins organization might be coming to a close... According to shero, janne was somebody they would be looking into if Feds did not sign... Though it is a sad day for us as fans, if Janne does move on and get a chance to actually play in the NHL, we wish him the best... Let's just hope he doesn't sign with the cryers or the crapitals....

If he gets a legitimate shot on another team he'll score at least 15 goals and have 35-45 points. That's pretty solid.

It's pretty shitty to think we are paying Pascal dupuis over 1 mil when we could be paying janne alot less and he'd probably do more...

It really is. Dupuis has his strengths, but scoring isn't one of them. It would be nice to have a winger threat on the 3rd or 4th line.

Given that the Penguins have lost Minard and Taffe, they might keep him. If not for the main club, for the depth at the AHL level. Janne has much more NHL potential than Taffe or Minard have repeatedly shown they lack.

That is assuming they can convince janne to take a 2-way contract, which I am hearing is not something he wants to do at the moment...

Referring discussions and news from Finnish magazines: "Janne has not yet made any contract. His first target is to play in NHL. There are also several other teams in NHL than Pens who are interested in of him. He will not make two-way contract anymore and will not play in AHL in the future." Summary: NHL and one-way contract is his first target. I hope that during next two weeks we know his final decision.

Also i am hearing word that Talbot is having shoulder surgery and may miss the first month of the season... Maybe this is chance that janne could have... Who ever fills that spot will most likely be playing for Pascal Dupuis roster spot...

Hey guys, I found this from the penguins website... this is a Q&A with Ray Shero :

"Is there room on this team for Janne Pesonen?

We'll let the dust settle and see. I'll talk to Dan this weekend about it. I think Janne would have come more into play in the event that we weren't able to re-sign Ruslan. We really like Pesonen as a player but he's looking at some other opportunities as well. We'll talk about it next week."

It doesn't really look promising with the recent signing of Fedotenko.. but with max on the sideline, and a potential trade to free cap space to renegociate Letang and Gonchar, maybe Pesonen could fill a open spot.

Shero said we the talks would happen next week.. Let's wait and see.

Same story what Obelix said repeats in Finnish newspapers today.

Personally I really wish he can get his chance to kick some ass, no matter what team anymore.
