I'm hearing through the grapevine...

John Curry is going to be assigned to Wilkes-Barre, then the last cut will come down to Bissonette, Bill Thomas and Janne.

For the life of me, I can figure out why there is even a question who will be sent down. I have seen, streamed and heard with my own eyes and ears that Bissonette just doesn't have NHL skill plain and simple. For some reason Therrien is keeping this a mystery. Bissonette does have NHL quality size at 6'3" 210 LBs. I was also told that Bissonette was a defensemen turned winger. I don't know if this is true or not, personally I don't really care. As for Curry, I'm not sure he has been given a chance to prove himself. He did have an awesome game verses Tampa Bay early. Has he been given a decent chance since. Only time will tell with our goaltending.

From what I understand, the Pens feel that Curry will be better served by playing for the Baby Pens rather than sitting on the bench and watching Fleury play.

..."sitting in the press box and watching Sabourin on the bench," you mean. Keeping three goalies on the roster is awkward/difficult even post-trade deadline, with no limits, when they all get along well, like last year (but you saw how Sabu virtually disappeared), and makes absolutely no sense right now. Teams normally don't carry three goalies during the season; it's not about Curry 'proving himself'. He only has a year in the A; he needs to do more first.

As far as Biss goes...hey, the ability to beat the crap out of people is a marketable skill even in today's NHL...I'm just surprised it took him this long to incorporate it into his resume.

From what I have seen Biss has been getting beat most of the time...

I have to agree with the both of you. I would like to think that Sabourin will be a viable back-up. I can only hope Curry continues in his development and maybe one day get his shot.
