Two Streaks Die tonight...

Pens 1 - Wild 2 (SO)

Tonight Malkins dream of breaking Marios record of consecutive point streak ended, as did the Pens' 5 game winning streak. Not much to be said here, the Pens played a pretty good game, but the other net minder was just too good tonight. This loss doesn't worry me at all, the Pens are clicking on pretty much on all levels. The one thing i do find funny is probably 2 of our worst wingers (not saying they are terrible but they are not our best...and i'm talking about Dupuis and Satan) are sharing time on one of our top lines... Anyways...your thoughts?

Malkin could have reach Lemieux for that record, be he wouldnt have break it.. In fact Jagr has a 16 consecutives games with an assist record.

Also, that game was pretty cool, Backstrom was solid, so was sabourin! Nice game, not to worried for the Pens even if they lost a point (at least they got 1).... Sure they could have won, the Wilds goal was pretty... hmm strange.

One thing i cant understand is why Therrien ALWAYS sends Crosby as 3rd shooter in shootouts... i mean, he is like 0-5 in shootouts this season and didnt do great the last years... we have plenty of good talents on shootout in the team, i dont know why he doenst call on them... every goaler knows Crosby by now...

I liked what I saw from Boucher, pretty solid game for him... hoping to see more of that!

Thanks

Ok lets see... First of all, atleast we got a point. The Wild do have a very stingy defense but we are still capable of making a stingy defense look like a joke.

Vince, I agree about Dupuis getting too much time on the top line. No reason for that. As far as Satan goes, I feel like they are just trying to push hims as being Sid's long lost winger in an attempt to justify him as being a big off season signing.

Now to where HCMT frustrated me tonight. LP, I agree about Boucher playing solid, but I feel like he got way to much ice time, especially on some key power plays. I don't think we needed to throw him right into the mix of one of most skilled power plays, that has finally been clicking as of late.

Also the shootout order was a joke. Gogo is not the next Christainsen with the shootout move. Everyone knew that move was coming... and it was an overall poor attempt of the move. Sid in the 3rd slot is also a rough call. He's Sidney Crosby you have to have him there... right?? I dont necessarily believe that. His attempts at trying to snipe from between the circles are not what I expect from one of the most gifted players in the league. That shootout just looked so flat, you almost could sense that we just weren't going to capitalize.

Hey atleast we got a point. ATL here I come...

I would ditch Dupuis, and snag Janne. As far as Satan, i like his work. Sneaky business. Solid work. Wild games = vomit city.

Satan is this fabled sniper and other than one shot against the blues I have yet to see him live up to his sniper name. I think if somebody from the AHL ends up proving themselves and shows they can play a high caliber NHL game than Dupuis would hvae to be the first to go...

HCMT has to get over his man crush on Dupuis first...

I to saw what everyone did last night, The Wild surely don't pose the offense he Pens do, but played their typical shutdown and wait for a break game.

Sabu continues to look good.

Boucher, for playing with a day of practice looked solid.

as for the shootout, That was down right ugly form our side of the ice. Sure they moves worked against the cryers, but lets change it up alittle. The Lip downright sucks at it. Why do these players look like their sleepwalking sometimes.

I say treat these as a breakaway in a game, take them a full steam where there isn't time to think and just react. oh well, we can't win them all.

Hey Mark, bring us a winner tomorrow in Atl, don't forget the pics if you can..
