Meet the Competition

Down in wilkes barre Janne Pesonen is not the only one making waves. Chris Minard is on a goal a game streak, and is right now one of the hottest goal scorers in the AHL. Not only this but Minard has played up with the Big Penguins and has a nice size to him, and is a winger. Especially right now with the penguins desperatly needing somebody who can put the puck in the net, he might end up getting the call everybody dreams about before Janne.

Atleast he is legitimate competition, unlike the rest of goon city that he had to compete with during the pre-season.

But how much better has Minard looked with getting sweet set ups from Pessi?

That was one point i forgot to make, Minard is playing on a far superior line to most other lines in the AHL, with Taffe and Pesonen, so that is defiantly a factor, but he would be playing with that caliber talent in the NHL...

And honestly right now i think everybody is a playmaker on the penguins, and all they do is set each other up for scoring opportunities and miss... We shall see though

One other question that must be answered about him is does he have the speed to compete at a high level...

An example of this was Ryan Malone, although a good player, and good at what he did, after watching the SCF it was exposed that he just didn't have the speed to compete at a level required to win championships...

Malone went downhill in the Finals when Malkin disappeared.
